Belle tries to be courteous. They don’t get the chance to do this very often and this isn’t her bed. For the most part, she succeeds. When they finally decide to sleep for the night, she stays on the side of the bed Mulan has given her, arms and legs close. But then sometime in the middle of the night she wakes up to Mulan huffing and puffing. “Scoot,” Mulan whispers harshly and Belle recognizes that she’s practically starfished out on the bed but is too sleepy to get to her side.
